An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Corvette (except Z06/ZR1)’s fuel efficiency. The LC doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Corvette has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The LC doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

The Corvette offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The LC doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

All wheel drive, available in the Corvette, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Lexus LC is not available with all wheel drive.

The Corvette’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The LC doesn’t offer launch control.

The Corvette offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. For better traction, the Corvette Z06/E-Ray/ZR1’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the LC (F:275/30R20 & R:345/25R21 vs. F:245/45R20 & R:275/40R20).

The Corvette’s standard 245/35R19 front and 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the LC’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires. The Corvette Z06/E-Ray/ZR1’s 275/30R20 front and 345/25R21 rear tires have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile than the LC’s optional 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

The Corvette has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The LC doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Corvette is 1.4 inches wider in the front than the track on the LC.

The Corvette Z06 Z07 Coupe handles at 1.16 G’s, while the LC 500h pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The design of the Chevrolet Corvette amounts to more than styling. The Corvette has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .32 Cd. That is lower than the LC (.33 to .34). A more efficient exterior helps the Corvette go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the Corvette get better fuel mileage.

The Corvette’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The LC doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

The Corvette Coupe has .7 inches more front headroom and .8 inches more front legroom than the LC.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the LC, the Corvette offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, suspension setting and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Corvette’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The LC does not have an oil pressure gauge.

On a hot day the Corvette Convertible has a standard remote opening feature, to lower the top from outside. The LC doesn’t offer a remote top, so the driver will have to enter the car, turn the ignition on and lower the top.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Corvette has standard extendable sun visors. The LC doesn’t offer extendable visors.

When the Corvette with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The LC’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Chevrolet Corvette has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console for up to two separate devices. The LC doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.
