Compare the2025 Chevrolet TraxVS 2024 Buick Envista

Both the Trax and the Envista have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, front wheel drive, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems, rear parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

There are almost 3 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Buick dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Trax’s warranty.

As tested in Motor Trend the Chevrolet Trax is faster than the Buick Envista:

For more complete vehicle control the Trax has a manually controlled automatic, with the available convenience of an automatic transmission and the complete gear control of a manual transmission without the inconvenience of a clutch. A manually controlled automatic allows the driver to eliminate unwanted shifts and maximize engine braking by down shifting while cornering. The Envista doesn’t offer a transmission that allows complete gear control.

The Trax stops much shorter than the Envista:

The Trax ACTIV handles at .84 G’s, while the Envista Avenir pulls only .83 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Trax ACTIV executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1 seconds quicker than the Envista Sport Touring (27.5 seconds @ .62 average G’s vs. 28.5 seconds @ .58 average G’s).

The Trax is 4 inches shorter than the Envista, making the Trax easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Trax has .2 inches more front headroom and .8 inches more rear headroom than the Envista.

The Trax has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Envista with its rear seat up (25.6 vs. 20.7 cubic feet). The Trax has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Envista with its rear seat folded (54.1 vs. 42 cubic feet).

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Trax has a standard rear wiper. The Envista doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

Motor Trend performed a comparison test in its January 2024 issue and they ranked the Chevrolet Trax ACTIV higher than the Buick Envista Sport Touring.

The Trax was chosen as a Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2024. The Envista has never been chosen by Car and Driver in their “10Best” issue.

The Chevrolet Trax outsold the Buick Envista by over 8 to one during 2023.
